Walalou,
No problems downloading it. Just selected to download the whole thing
I used Navifirm+ 1.4 .... with the 22.14 package for the N8: 0598986: euro1_wh_uk_ireland
What version of navifirm+ plus are you using ? and perhaps could try downloading another of euro1_ XXX_uk_ireland package (english)
good luck !

the simlock_3gstandarrd_bb5.bin is a small file 964 bytes only within the 0598986: euro1_wh_uk_ireland package.
I don't know if that file is different for other package variants ??
i can email it to you (if that's the only one ur missing) - if you feel comfortable posting your email on this forum. the rest of the package is about 1.26 gig total.

Not only do I feel cheated by Rogers, but I feel used.
I waited until a phone with the long list of hardware features I was looking for came available to get a smartphone and now the company that was the first to bring it to North America seems to not care about its customers being able to use it properly.
It is Rogers' responsibility to ensure that the hardware they provide to their clients works properly and the N8 is plagued with a clunky and awkware OS. Anna speeds this up and makes it less unbearable yet Rogers does nothing.
the update is available to the rest of the world. Why not let it through as an optional update with the UR MUSIC app not to spec with a document that a subscriber has to agree to read to be able to update?
What other proprietary software are we waiting on if this isn't a blatant heel drag??
I'm watching how this plays out to gauge a switch to Bell when the Windows phones with similar hardware features come available.
This whole ordeal is just disgusting. Why sell a product you won't support for no good reason?

Hi Robbie
Many thanks for your reply.
I tried navifirm plus 1.4 and 1.1 . I am not sure if it is windows 7 problem so I tried to run navifirm in compatibility mode with antivirus off and and always the same problem. I was able to download the other 18 files of 1.26gig but the simlock_3gstandard file was always failing.
I really appreciate if you can email it to : simlock123@hotmail.com
My best regards and again many thanks for your help

Rogers Canada. Still waiting.
I really did enjoy my N95, and now my N8.. But unfortunately this is my last Nokia phone.
If these two companies fail to coordinatethere software updates accordingly. Its just bad
for business. I am not saying any one company is to blame, but it reflects
negatively on both sides.

Now don't go saying I'm a Rogers fanboy or anything like that but this really isn't Rogers fault. Even the US carriers do not have the update and even if you had an unlocked NAM (North American Market) N8 the update would not be available to you. At this moment the only way to get this update in North America is to flash it yourself with a version from overseas. This seems to be a Nokia issue, that said Nokia should consider using generic firmware that the user can set to their own geographic region. I know the carriers like having their logo on startup but is that really worth the customer dissatisfaction it seems to have caused?
I love my N8 enought that I can look past this for now. Most of the world has Anna and US/Canada is next up so hopefully we'll see it soon.
I do have a question for those that have debranded their phones and installed a non-NAM firmware: Using the full firmware do you still have Quick Office or has that been wiped out doing the Anna flash yourselves?
BTW: I do prefer Rogers Pay As You Go to other carriers. At the time when I was checking things out they were the only one to offer a voucher that lasts a full year and allows smartphones on prepaid plans.
New! Introducing a new feature: groups. Read more.
