I have LG Shine Touch (KM555).
When I use the built-in social networking application to sign into Facebook I get the message: "Error: User has opted out of Facebook platform". How do I get it to work? I haven't tried using the MySpace or Twitter options because I don't have those, so I don't know if it's just Facebook or the entire social networking application.
When I try signing into Facebook just form the Internet browser, I'm blocked off.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hello fanaa,
What kind of data plan do you have on your account?
Have you tried removing the battery from your device?

I don't have a data plan. I'm using the Wi-Fi, which works fine because I can use the Internet browser and see other websites.
Removing the battery did not change anything.

Hi fanaa,
Many of these built-in social networking applications are pre-programmed to go through our specific servers. In the case of your specific version it sounds like it is not trying to use wifi when available.
In this case, a few ways around it I can think of would be to try to update the applications if possible (This is usually done through your PC using LG software), load custom social networking applications on the phone or use the web browser.
You can always try either contacting the application manufacturer or LG directly to see if there is a way to force the application to use wifi.

None of those suggestions worked.
Turns out it was a privacy setting on Facebook, which blocks all applications from accessing the site/account.
Sign into Favebook>Privacy Settings>Edit Your Settings (Below Applications and Websites)>Turn On All Platform Applications.
Basically the opposite of this http://www.allfacebook.com/the-facebook-platform-k
