I couldn't wait and flashed Belle on my N8. So far so good. Don't want to jinx it but everything is currently working as expected. It blows PR 1.2 out of the water and has all the updates of Anna plus a bunch of stuff. Almost what the Symbian OS should be but not quite. They just need to include split screen everywhere and full rotation would be a plus. I will stick with this until the official release expected at the end of the year. Although history would tell us that the Rogers N8 won't get the official Belle until a few months after that So maybe by summer of 2012?

Just thought I'd share. It is tricky, but be patient, find a couple of good tutorials, be patient and remember the risks. Flashing Nokias or any phone is not for everyone. For goodness sake, no matter what, make backups!! I was not able to import my contacts from OVI suite, so I imported them from my SIM. There may be a solution to that, but I have moved on.

So, just wondering. Will Rogers be releasing this update?  If not, then please let us know now and we can let it go and move on to either leaving it alone or using a generic firmware to flash the phone ourselves. That is one way to stop the flaming and aggressive comments.  Just let us know.  thank you.

Still no update, I check every day on my phone in hopes for something to pop up.... I am starting to doubt it will ever happen.

N8 is one of the greatest phone out there yet rogers does not see it that way since it isn't popular enough to stand out in their sales numbers.

Which official Anna euro? english package did you use from Navifirm+ ? 0598986: euro1_wh_uk_ireland ?? or some other package  ?

Also.. this is perhaps a silly question. Our Rogers branded phones are locked ... but I assume if we're flashing it with another FW (e.g euro spec) it negates the 'locked' part regarding our Rogers branded Nokia N8. After flashing we shouldn't have to worry about euro-spec firmware and phones being locked/unlocked whatever if we've flashed it... am I correct ???

Mine is the standard silver one bought from the Rogers store almost upon release in my initial excitement. That euphoria was a long time ago...   getting tired of lies and runarounds from Rogers & Nokia Canada ... and always seeing 'No Updates Available' ....

flashing with a generic firmware does not unlock your device.  You still need to buy an unlock code from a company that does unlocking, like horizonwirlessonline.com

I use the camera a lot, and the improvements to it in the new firmware are supposed to be incredible. Hopefully, we will find that out. waiting, waiting......
