I absolutely LOVE the N8 hardware. However, I have been using android with swype for a couple of years now and I must say that the Symbian ^3 OS ver PR 1.2 is lacking in some essentials that are deal breakers for me. I take my N8 out every few weeks and slam my SIM in, charge it up and pray to the phone gods that Pr 2.0 will show up as an available update, then sadly and with a deep sigh of regret turn it off and put the sim back in my android. As has been mentioned on these forums many times, the lack of portrait qwerty / swype keyboard and the hopeless built in browser are two of the more disasterous problems that we know have been fixed in the PR 2.0 release.
Rogers, please release the update as soon as you can!! Waiting a year for it is totally unacceptable!! And if the one old guy down in the basement who is your compatibility tester needs a hand, I am sure there are hundreds of willing test / verification subjects all accross the Rogers world. I know I would have no trouble being a beta tester for the rogers / NAM release of PR 2.0 
The thing is, Rogers has been doing this for years. The N95 and the LG Eve are just a couple I can think of. Great handsets that are handicapped because rogers takes waaaay to long to release an update, or doesnt release it at all. Geez. What is the point in having all these fancy smart devices if you are not going to keep them up to date? It's very frustrating from a consumer point of view.
