No connection on startup.

I just bought a netbook from Rogers with the Rocket installed.  Everytime I start up the connection manager the Rocket status shows as "power off".  If I pop out the SIM card and put it back in it starts up fine and will allow a connection.  Once turned off, the problem repeats every time.  Any other uses having this problem?

Which netbook model do you have? The issue may be a Windows setting (easy to fix) or you may need to do a simple BIOS update (also easy to fix).  Any extra details you can provide will be helpful. Thanks.

Hi there.

I got experience with this...I have an HP Netbook from Rogers and had a similar issue. The store I got it from informed me of a known issue about an HP Connection Manager setting. If you open up your Connection Manager (make sure the SIM card working), click on the gear in the lower right corner, go to Mobile Broadband tab, then click on General Settings. Make sure "Power on upon Launch" is checked. The problem is this option is usually not checked. Also, I found it annoying when the Connection Manager started up when Windows did, so I'd recommend making sure this is not checked.

Good luck and I hope this helps. :smileyhappy:

This worked perfectly.  There was no check mark in the box to have the device power up with the system start up.  Thank you very much for your clear explanation.
