I am not sure if they are directly posted on the website or not, but they do offer pre-paid data/voice packages for when you are going to be roaming in the US.  ALOT cheaper than for the same usage, not with the package.  Only thing is its paid upfront, so if you dont use it all, its wasted.

In the end, was i have seen alot of people do if they are going to the US enough, is use an unlocked phone.. and get a pay as you go based sim card for down there.. and swap them when they are in the US.

Recently was in the US and tried to get Roger's to make the US data roaming add on work retroactively (which ALL US wireless companies allow) and they refused.  17MBs of roaming data and now my roaming fee is roughly 160 CAD.

A few points:

Roger's wireless speeds are so subpar compared to the US. They are just a 3rd rate company all in all. If true competition were allowed, Roger's who share the same fate as the old ma bells.

Suggestions - there are phone unlock services, just check online. Most phones only have a one year warranty anyway, so wait out the one year, then get it unlocked. Buy a US SIM if you travel regularly. US providers have far superior customer service, better data and better pricing.  T-Mobile US is especially great. I used to live in the US for about 10 years, I've travelled the world, lived in close to 10 countries, they are by far the best wireless company.

Can't wait for the day when Roger's hits the dust.

Considering that rogers owns probably 1/3 to 1/2 of the celular towers, the rest being owned by Bell or Telus... i dont think they will disapear anytime soon... considering that if they disapear, a good bunch of the 3rd party party providers would as well, as they piggyback on rogers network.  Many of them dont have the money to set up the infrastructure themselves.

But i do agree with getting the other sim, at least if you are traveling regularily enough.
We have sales people where i work, and some are overseas for a few weeks at a time.  They use prepaid sims for while they are over there

I've done a lot of hair pulling and research after getting my 1st huge data roaming bill from Rogers.
I can't believe the Canadian government lets them get away with it.
They are completely inflexible. The whole method for how they present it is a trap.
I paid an extra $40 per month for what they call "peace of mind" and when I got my bill I had a $450 charge.
I found out if I paid an extra $10 to cover data roaming (a different thing) my bill would have been $58.00.
They blame the high charges on US company AT&T - but that is a lie.
Rogers and Bell have formed a pact with AT&T to gouge their American and Canadian customers respectively.

I am leaving Rogers for ever – I paid my last bill with them and unlocked my phone!!

I, like millions of other Canadian are so pissed with these companies and our polititians.
The best solution is a company called "Roam Mobility" google it, call them and ask questions.
