You won't find these price offerings on Rogers site because they didn't put them on the site.   They offered them to people who were losing their internet after being notified by letters, etc.   When these people called in and bitched then they got special pricing.  My last email from Rogers told me the offer on pricing stopped March 31.   What Rogers won't tell you is they did this offering in secret as an attempt to keep customers.   After all when the service was cancelled Rogers under pressure would offer free Hubs and regular internet pricing but once people started to refuse Rogers started offering the special pricing.   Read up on it, it's posted on the net.  It just shows to those of us who are customers of Rogers that pricing on the Rocket Hub is nothing more than price gouging.   What Rogers needs to do is readjust the monthly GB download/upload caps on this device.

wow...30 gigs for 65 bucks....that caught my eye.....i would like to have a 30 gig limit....i would kill for 30 gigs,lol So i've heard about this letter that rogers was sending out to consumers saying there service was going to end on march 31.My question is,why didn't i get one of these letters??? i have the ericsson w35 rocket hub,got it for 149.99 on a two year deal.Why was this letter sent out to some consumers and not others??? so far the best deal i've seen rogers advertise is there LTE introductry plan...10 gigs for 52 bucks.I would maybe get this,but i want a hub...something that has ports so i can do a wired connection as well as wi-fi.I was told today by a rogers that a LTE hub is coming,but they have no idea when....great...lol i couldn't agree more with everyone on here and every other forum i'm on.Rogers,Bell,Telus etc rip us off HARD on data.Mean while my friend who has a WIRED internet from rogers at his hosue in town pays about 60-80 bucks for 250gigs!!!! LOL jokes!!! but us "country" folk who can't get wired net,get ripped off hard and i'm SO beyond tired of it.I kid you not,i've contracted local MPP and such over this and have even thought i should get to into politics so everyone out there can get good,AFFORDABLE high speed internet.Oh and if we want a public IP we have to pay extra for it!!!! REALLY!!!! unlike, once again people in town who...yup you guessed it,don't....so brutal.Sorry for the rant but like i've said...i'm so tired of all this brutal pricing/data usage amounts.I really feel like people who live in the "country" are being discriminated against so much just because we live in the country.

When you sort out the internet you can then start on the high hydro rates that we rural people pay, the explanation I get is #$#@%@% , they claim it is the distance, lines etc. we already paid for this when they dinged us with the dept retirement payment, (now paid but they continue to bill everyone) people in town pay half what we pay!!!

Don't understand what your post is about unless your rocket hub is responsible for your high hydro rates.   I too live rural as probably everyone here who posts about the rocket hubs.   The thing about hydro (Ontario Hydro) that ticks me off is charging me money to be a customer.   Dropping that $17 fee would be my idea of a great suggestion.   I can tell you that if you want to save a bit of money then try this.   I have shut down the hydro to my 2 tvs, 2 bell receivers, surround sound system, dvd, computers when not in use during the day and overnight and have saved $48 off my hydro bill each month.

As for Rogers recent rocket hub plan offering of 20 GB for $90 or $100 or $105 depending on the plan is a pathetic gouge on our wallets!

Rogers offers cable internet at $38.49 for 20 GB.    That $38.49 is what the cost for using the rocket hub should be the way I see it.  Perhaps when the industry is opened up to further competition the nerds at the top of this organization will wake up and smell the rubber of peoples' shoes as the people scramble to other providers.

@eddy:

if you and kenmateer were to sit down for some discussions about this over your respective favourite beverages, I am positive you would discover that you are in violent agreement.  kenmateer is simply using metaphor and hyperbole to underscore the futility of posting here on this subject.

Rogers has no intention of providing rural Canada with fairly priced, functional service.  But then, neither do any of the other carriers.  If you were to submit a matter on this to the CRTC, the government body that is supposed to ride herd on this industry, you would discover that they believe they have no mandate to interfere in what to them is a "competitive" market environment.

So, just take the Ontario Hydro issue as an analogy to our current problems in getting fair, equitable and reasonably priced ISP services in Canada generally, and especially in rural Canada.  It ain't gonna happen until there is a significant groundswell change in government priorities and policies on many issues.

Given the current tendency for Canadian governments to support American-style, fundamendalist capitalist philosophies no changes will be happening in the foreseeable future.

And the CRTC is not exactly leading the charge in the direction of change.
