Ohh, I see!
So you're saying once the New York guy is IN New Jersey and calls me from NJ or I call him while he's in NJ, it will still show up on the bill as though he made/received the call in New York.
I THINK this answers my question. I just hope you're right.

if they call from a new york number but theyre in a different city or state, THEIR CELL NUMBER ia all that you will know, you your phone. company also only knows their number.. only THEIR phone company knows if they were travelling or in another state when they called you. that information is not accessible to you nor is needed by you nor your wireless carrier. Also if their cell has a unknown or private number you would not know at all where they are calling from, it will simply show unknown. The only way to find out is to ask them. I'm not sure why you need to know this informaiton?

Okay, just keep in mind that I'm not talking about my wireless cell phone plan, I'm talking about my HOME phone (landline). I'm sure this doesn't really make a difference though, right?
And yeah, it's a strange question but I have my reasons.
