Ohh, I see!

So you're saying once the New York guy is IN New Jersey and calls me from NJ or I call him while he's in NJ, it will still show up on the bill as though he made/received the call in New York.

I THINK this answers my question. I just hope you're right.

if they call from a new york number but theyre in a different city or state, THEIR CELL NUMBER ia all that you will know, you your phone. company also only knows their number..  only THEIR phone company knows if they were travelling or in another state when they called you.  that information is not accessible to you nor is needed by you nor your wireless carrier.   Also if their cell has a unknown or private number you would not know at all where they are calling from, it will simply show unknown.  The only way to find out is to ask them.  I'm not sure why you need to know this informaiton?

Okay, just keep in mind that I'm not talking about my wireless cell phone plan, I'm talking about my HOME phone (landline).  I'm sure this doesn't really make a difference though, right?

And yeah, it's a strange question but I have my reasons.

Its the same thing with the Home phone. We have explained this to you many times...

There is not difference seeing as you are getting detailed billing for home phone. Like me & pauly said. When the person calls lets say from New York & is traveling to New Jersey, You will see New york & the phone number on the bill. Not each states & city he passes. They only record phone calls where they were made.
