That’s a good thing if your ports are closed, your less open to port intrusion attack type things... but is there an actual issue? like hosting an internet game? connecting to something? If the guy changed nothing but the modem, and it used to work, I think rogers (or the modem, if it has some sort of built in firewall) is blocking ports, whether tech support knows or not is another story. .
I actualy did a remote connection with him.
Went through all the settings, on both the modem and PC. They are set up right.
I tried them on my own modem, same model and revision, and the ports went fine.
So only thing i could think, would be on his PC.
But we looked at the internal firewall, turned it off, turned his AV off.. still nothing.

Thanks for helping me that day too!
Still un-resolved, sigh. Maybe I should get a new modem from Rogers? :\

unless its something being blocked specificaly those ports alone though.. it SHOULDNT be.
Again, i opened those ports on my machine.. for my FTP mind you and not the game, individualy, and each one worked.
With the same modem, same hardware.
So i dont think its rogers blocking the ports.. at least in my opinion.

Hmm highly unlikely,
I rember live chating with them, and they stated they don't block any ports.
but who knows ![]()

Ya not sure I would trust what they say, I don't think even the employees really know it's just what the higher ups tell them what to say. ![]()
