I shared my experience and pleaded with them to consider running a news story about slow internet speeds from Rogers and the lack of information Rogers is providing to its valued customers.

i completely agree, rogers is garabage we got it and well all i can say is im with bell now at 6mps and never been happier. Bell may have slower internet but atleast it consistent
Like rogers inconsistency promise a faster internet that is inconsistent, this is retarded and i shoulda told the sales idiot who came to my house and sold us on rogers to go home your wasting your time
I will never be a rogers costomer as long as im a gamer.
honestly do you even need 12 mps or 24 mps, i lived in huntsville Ontario and had to do with 2mps and it was awesome and ran online games fine and i could stream movies fine.
i hope everyone with rogers internet leaves until they can provide consistent internet

While i guess in the end, its still rogers fault, with congested areas, cloged nodes, etc that cause slowdowns, etc..
Everyone should be aware.. that its not a GLOBAL problem so to speak.. not EVERY use has the same problem.
I myself, have actualy had rogers high speed, before it was rogers highspeed. My father was one of the original beta testers in ontario for it. That was back when your high speed was 256k ![]()
Under current conditions, with the express internet (12m down, 512 up).. on speed tests to barrie and new york, i have pulled up to 30m down... and to texas and florida, 15mb. This is with the newer cisco modem, seperate router, and a laptop on wireless. This was durring PEAK interet times in the evening as well.
In the end, what people with the problems need to end up doing, is push rogers to evaluate the infrastructure in the area.. that is where the problem is lying most likely with these people with the slower speeds.
A friend in kitchener, was upset that his internet was actualy going to be down for 1+ days!! why? they were upgrading some of the nodes in the area.. did it suck no internet for a day? yeah.. but he noticed the speed increase afterwards.

Hi Fractal I almost much have the same problem as you. Here's what I've said in my previous posts.
Hello Everyone,
So I have this problem with my internet connection.
Browsing normally would be fine such as Facebook, google search etc but when I play an online game such as Call of Duty, Counterstrike etc I experience lag/spikes. My computer is directly connected to my mortorola modem and recently got a new modem but still the lag/spikes are there.
Now I'm thinking its my cable wires or something wrong with my rogers cable box at the side of the house
Please I need help this has been going on for more than a month now.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

If you can't get to another ISP, just get your connection switched over to Teksavvy.
That way Rogers doesn't get your money anymore except for the leasing fees Teksavvy pays Rogers for use of the lines
and any tech support issues with Rogers are done through Teksavvy.
Shaw, Telus and Bell customers can do the same.
Rogers has to allow you to use Teksavvy if you wish, if they refuse you just submit a complaint to the CRTC and they will
force them to switch you.

@jblack
While everyone is free to switch companies, that is their choice... doing so may not solve the problem.
In many areas, its not rogers itself that may be causing the slowdown, but the rogers infrastructure in the area..
Switch to techsavy sure.. but if its an ifrastructure problem.. you could experience the same thing with techsavy since its renting the usage right from rogers.
