Community Changes?

Hi everybody,

 

I'm working on making the forums easier for everyone to access and use and I'm thinking that two heads (or a whole crowd) are better than one. If you have suggestions about community improvements, please reply to this thread or PM me.

 

Some areas I'm focused on: revamped look and feel, reducing categories, anything else? It's all just possibility for now but I def want to hear what you think.

Please revise your community guidelines and allow an open and frank discussion of issues that affect Rogers customers. Editing and deleting comments only reinforces to many that Rogers does not want to listen to its customers.

Thanks for the feedback! I will review our guidelines as part of our look back of the first year. Maybe we could consider an off-topic board.

 

Our guidelines are similar to other technical communities, they exist to make people feel welcome to participate.

Things I would like to see:
- email replies (I can't always login to reply but I can almost always send an email.. Facebook has this type of system)
- in the emails about private messages and such I only get notified about it, I would like to have the content so I can prioritize my response and know if I should reply right away or have time to reply later.
- polls might be a fun idea for users to provide feedback on services, ideas, contests, if they have the same issues
- create separate sections for complaints vs tech support.. Currently it's all mixed and mods try to delete the non tech stuff but really users want a place for both.. It's called community forums not tech support forums...
- conversation view in the private messages (like gmail) this inbox/sent makes it hard to read through a series of messages

If I think of anything else i will post...
