Why would Rogers create an iPhone, and Blackberry category, and then group Android with all the other phones?
As an Android user, if I'm reading through topics, or looking for Android related information here in the forums, why would I want to see topics for every other phone Rogers has?????!!!!!!
It's almost insulting as an Android user that iPhone and Blackberry get there own categories, Android's OS is nothing like any other phone, and the questions will not relate to any other phone, so why would it not have its own category?!?!?!
C'mon Rogers.......

Though I'm not surprised by the lack of a dedicated "Android" category, I still think there deserves to be one.
More than 800% year-on-year growth in the Android OS' market share (in the US at least) really can't (shouldn't) be ignored.

Android is now top-selling OS in American smartphones. Cellular trends in the south usually follow suit here. I think rogers should release some more current android devices. Enough with the slow to release hardware and slow to relese updates.

This is very typical of Rogers! In order to increase profit margins and what not, they introduced the HTC Magic / Dream as bringing a revolution to Canada on June 2nd, 2009. However, just a few months later they had no answers when the question was asked if they will be providing an upgrade for the devices to either 1.6 or 2.1.
On several occasions Rogers has explicitly shown that they simply DO NOT understand the Android platform regardless of what their marketing material says or what their product management group seems to communicate out to customers.
In the end Android like iPhone and Blackberry is just another platform to lure customers into signing long term contracts for the benefit of profits. Just happens to be that Android isn't as lucrative of a platform as the latter two.
Rogers lack of understanding of Android and the smartphone market overall examplifies the archaic thinking that goes on within the walls at 1 Mount Pleasant.

Hi Puleen,
We created our forums based on handset manufacturer, not operating system -- which we think will be the easiest way for every customer to participate in the forums as not everyone knows their phone's OS. We know we have a passionate Android user base and we plan to break-out other manufacturer-specific forums as conversations grow so you can talk about both the handsets and the OS.

The thing is that not everyone knows he's using an Android-based phone.
And that's one of the strength of Android.
For example: the HTC Magic+ OS is based on Android 1.5 but heavily customized by HTC (even the Browser app which is a part of Android 1.5 has been modified to add pinch-to-zoom ...).

Rogers doesn't care about android. Its all Iphone this, Iphone that. Like c'mon Rogers virgin mobile has a better android lineup than you do. How about this Rogers, get a high end android phones.. Cough**cough* Samsung galaxy s? New htc models?
some android lineup we are getting as Rogers promised..
If things continue like this, I'm moving to bell or virgin for use of their much better phones.

Yeah, so far it's clear that there's no much Android love going on with Rogers.... If I could buy a Galaxy S right now I'd have done that instead of the iPhone4, or even a Nexus One, but I'm still waiting for a decent android device from Rogers...

I dont see a iOS section.
As Erin said it is an OS not a manufacture of Phone.
I think the reason why they have an iPhone section is because its one of the most popular phones.
