Why Are All the Solutions PMed to the User?

I thought I'd browse through the forum and read some of the issues involved with RON. What's the point of having the forum at all if the solutions are private messaged?

Well that's what I mean! They are obviously Rogers technical people and they're not sharing the answers. Might as well just have an email to send questions to instead of an "open" forum.

This forum was made for people to help others out. This is what i was told from Gina / RogersDarrel & every other mod i have spoken too.

The mods only come here & PM you if they see no one has helped out OR if you said the wrong things.
95% of the posts on here are answered from the users them selfs.
This is a great forum in which you will get the right answer from others.

 

 

Also they are not tech people. They are just reps from Rogers which have some knowlege of something. when they PM you, you tell them your problem & if the mod does not know the answer they will either contact other Rogers reps or techs & then answer you.

That's not a satisfactory answer. Microsoft has community based forums and, when Microsoft moderators/employees step in to help, they put the answer on the thread. This is the only community forum where I have seen moderators PM solutions!

This is Rogers, Not Microsoft. 2 very different companies & you need to see that.  Rogers is a carrier & a provider. Microsoft is a manufactor & a seller in which BUILTS products.. So 2 VERY different companies.

Really? hmm I suggest looking at the Bell / Fido & Telus community forums. All 3 of them have the same way. I have been on all the 4 carriers community forums to know this..


Also if you think this section is not needed then why bother being here? When a Rogers rep Pm's you they ask for private things like name / postalcode / birthday & such. Would you want all your private stuff online for others to see? :/ I really see no reason why you are complaining here..

 

Answers very in every way. Some people might have the same questions but they need to get different answers from the reps. If you fail to realize this then i do not know how else to explain it...

This is why the users on the community & others can post a solution them self's. Like i said 95% of the threads made are users giving the answers in which this is why the community was made.

The only way a Mod will PM you is if you have a big problem with Rogers or if the question you have has not yet been answered from anyone.

a lot of times customers have to disclose account sensitive info with the moderators to have certain problems fixed.

 

i dunno about you but i woudl want to keep that restricetd to private msg rather than made publically available.

 

not sure where your concerns for privacy are but mine are important to me.
