International Roaming vs WiFi

I'm currently traveling in South America and I have my "Mobile Network" off in my connections.  What I'm curious about is whether or not Rogers will charge me any hidden fees for using the WiFi network alone, and not ever turning on my network.  I know that normally when I use WiFi (within Canada) it doesn't consider it data used from my plan.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm almost certain that when on wifi (especially with network turned off) you won't be charged. I was in Vegas and turned off my data. While at the hotel I connected to wifi, got all my emails, played around on on Facebook and browsed the web on my BB Torch with no problem and no charges. To be safe, give Rogers a call and ask.

its the same as if you were to bring a netbook or notebook computer with you and turn on the wifi on it, i dont see how they can charge you, your basically turning off all the phone functions, and your phone will act as a mini-computer, only connecting to public wifi networks. pretty simple concept to grasp.

I can tell you 100% for sure that if your phone is using the Wifi (turning off the mobile network is the best way to tell) then there will be no charges coming from Rogers.
