I've seen a few iPhones that now have Caller ID with name display (similar to a landline with CID - these are not phonebook entries)
Mine still only just shows the number - I understand this is a new feature and am curious how to get it enabled for my account as I pay for an 'iPhone Value Pack w/ VVM'
Thanks!

Caller ID Name Display is an addon, if I'm not mistaken. Call customer service. Or, I think you can actually add it online.

Caller ID is usually not included with any plan. You can log into My Rogers and try adding "Name Display" to your account. It costs 2 dollars a month and if it doesn't work you only get billed for what you use (a couple of cents!)
Aside from that, your phone might need a "carrier update."
I would note that getting caller ID by itself is not possible with Rogers. You have to get the Caller ID + Name Display.

I believe it is an add on that you pay more for. But one of the nice features of the iPhone is that if you have the person's name and number in your contacts just having number display the phone will automatically show the persons name. It will ever show multiple names if you have the same number programmed for multiple people. If you have a picture associated with the user in your contacts it will also show that picture.

To answer your question, Name display is a feature you can get added on to your account however as of not Apple does not support Name display... You are welcome to call costumer service and add it on your account but it will not work.. I have heard that it "Some times" works on iphone.. my suggestion to you is to wait until apple has figured out a fix get it...

So after I added the Name Display option to my account, it worked on my iPhone 4.
Unfortunately, it no longer works on my iPhone 4S - however I've read that it does work on the iPhone 4 and 3GS running iOS5, so it may be an issue related to the iPhone 4S hardware. This is disappointing - hopefully Apple & Rogers can fix this soon.

According to users on Howard Forums, the iOS 5.0.1 beta2 still has this issue: http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php/1737750
Curious if its limited to Rogers/Fido, or if it's other carriers as well. Apparently Bell users aren't having the same problem.
If it was for ALL carriers, I suspect there would be more noise about this.

As far as I know, Bellus users do not have any problems with it because their network does not have name display implemented.
New! Introducing a new feature: groups. Read more.
