My iPhone 4S (6 months' old) fell down and has broken. It has got multiple screen cracks and Apple store said it could have more damages inside. It is in warranty period of 1 year, but physical damage is not covered. It sucks.

Rogers advertise Handset Protection guarantee. I called customer service and they offered only a basic phone. I do not want a IPhone replacement, but they should give smartphones where I can use data (I am paying for it) for internet surfing, emails, etc. The best they offered is Blackberry at more than 100 dollars and that too only refurbished. ugh used ones. And I have been with Rogers for the last 7 years. This is the first time my phone is broken and I need their help.

What help is handset protection. Whenever I used to watch handset protection advertisement on TV, I though I am in safe hands with Rogers. But no. This is not the case.

Does anybody else face such problem. And what is the best option for me now.

The best option for you right now is just to buy a phone outright or look on Kijiji & find a cheap phone.

Its not really a problem. If you read the fine print & also talk to reps they will tell you that the out of the warranty ( Handset protection) gives you limited phones. The price of the phones very & they are refurbished phones. Refurbished phones do not mean they are used & all. It means that the phones have been sent back by the customer & Rogers & the manufacturer have tested the phone out & changed the battery & screen so you have no issues at all. I have gone threw this with Rogers & every phone i get that is refurbished i had no problems with.

I read on another topic that you can get upgrade after six months. My six months just completed. Can I get another iphone 4s for $159 now?

Yes but you are going to firat pay a Early upgrade fee. Thw fee can very so you need to contact Rogers and speak to a rep about it. Best bet is buying a phone outright because you are going to pay the early upgrade fee + the phone cost and $35 admin fee

Check your Local Kijiji, you can have an iPhone 4S repaired for about 80-100 dollars in 30 minutes or less.

This will "void your warranty" But its already void anyways. There is almost NEVER internal damage, Apple tells you that so you'll buy a new phone.

Take it from me, I ran one of the biggest iPhone repair shops on the east coast

I wonder where you get ur info from.. Apple shows you what is wrong with the phone and most of the times they even give you another iPhone...

Good for you. Please do not try to advertise that you own a company on here.. I can claim i know others as well that have the biggest iPhone repair shop aswell over the internet.. Also you are not talking about what the OP is asking.

I tell him to check Kijiji, as I am probably not in his area, and I stopped doing iPhones about 2 months ago (my new work requires me to fix iPhones for them, and I needed to sign a non-compete agreement)

So the BEST option IMO, to have a working phone that looks and works normal, is to have the screen repaired by a 3rd party. You can find these easily online.

No one needs to know what you do or all. The OP Never asked that did they?.
Anyways check on Kijiji or other places for a used phone. Yes you can get someone from Kijiji to so call fix it but you really do not know what they can do. I have seen and heard where people found people on Kijiji where they claimed they can fix phones but in the end they got scammed.

I have faced this problem and I I just went and bought a used phone for the time being.

I agree with everyone else on here, try kagigi or greg's list or howard forum to see if u can obtain a second hand, which might be quite possibly excellent condition phone, and pop ur sim card in it and go on your marry way.
