UPDATE (August 6, 2010, 8:58 AM 2:45 PM) Rogers is receiving a new shipment of iPhone 4, which will be available in limited supply in some retail locations starting on Saturday, August 7. In the meantime, Apple retail stores may have inventory available for both new customers and existing Rogers customers upgrading to iPhone 4.
Please keep in mind, the goal of the forums is to provide a venue where customers can help each other with technical questions related to our products and services. We're going to be flexible with this over the first few days as customers learn the community guidelines.
@RogersErin
Not to toss you in the fire as I have been following redboard since the release of the phone and have been following the community forums since they opened and well I am a little disgruntled about the whole stock coming in on the weekend being false information. I took unpaid time off work thinking I had the optimal chance of getting an iphone4 and well to be honest if the store by my house had of gotten stock like promised I would have one in my hand. Who is going to reimburse me for this false information? I would have much rather have been told the truth and not take time off work as now am I not only down money from missing work do to misleading information but I dont have my iphone!!!

Hi ne14t,
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that was caused this past weekend as many of you expected iPhone 4 to be back in stock at our stores. In an effort to get devices available as soon as possible, we are expediting all shipments to stores outside our normal process. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication on Friday and stock was not available as expected on Saturday.
Thanks for your participation!

@RogersErin
Wasnt your fault so you dont have to appologize, we all want written appologies from Keith, hand written on a piece of Egyptian papyrus even! Keep that boy busy for teasing us like that. To be honest I dont really care when they come in as long as Rogers plans to honor the HUP pricing past Sept. 30th that would probably keep myself and all the sane people waiting for iPhones happy cause frankly as long as I get it for the promo pricing I dont care if it doesnt show up till december its not going to change anytime soon.

Apple retail stores..are they able to provide the phone for $169 or are they simply selling them at the unlocked price of almost $700?

Obviously, it's clear Rogers is having problems keeping stock on the iPhone 4.
The question is, given the number of existing Rogers customers who want to upgrade to iPhone 4, why doesn't Rogers simply take all our names, put them on a list and contact US to tell us that you have a phone?
instead, you end up causing all your customers to have to call stores all over Canada, disrupting your own resellers, which seems like it's counterproductive for Rogers.
Total up all the wasted hours your customers spend calling around for iPhones, and all the time the resellers waste handling phone calls, if each of your customers has to call 5 local stores to track stock... and you realize that this is costing both you and your customers a small fortune, not to mention a potential loss of customer loyalty to Rogers.
One simple e-mail list to collect names that would probably take your developers a few hours to develop would save everyone all this hassle.
