True...my local Rogers Plus doesn't have a clue when they will be getting any in. Last time I asked... "Could be end of the month or even next month..." In my case I'm switching from Telus to Rogers and have been without a phone for over 2 months. I've been patient not having a clue when I'll be getting an iPhone. So why stop being patient now.
Besides Rogers can't tell each and everyone of us (on this site) when each of our local stores will be getting stock. That's up to us calling our local store and find out. And if our local store has no idea... well then that's there problem not Roger's as a whole.
For all we know stock did come in today (Sat. Aug. 7) somewhere. We just don't know.
And yes that in its self is bad communication, but hey this is still iPhone launch, just not day 1.
Things will be crazy. Broken communication will happen. Like I've said alot already have patience guys. After all it's just a phone, not medical supplies.

Thanks for posting aaronlaity,
We're growing the Community Forums to be a place where you can candidly discuss your technical issues, until customers get more familiar with our community guidelines. To be successful, we need to keep the focus specific. There are lots of other places - in social media sites we administer and those we don't - to discuss issues like device launches. Over time, we'll be removing off topic posts.
For now, we're publishing them so community members understand our guidelines.
Please refer to the latest updates on iPhone 4 stock on our RedBoard blog here:

UPDATE (August 9, 2010, 1:05 PM)
Hi everyone. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused this past weekend as many of you expected iPhone 4 to be back in stock at our stores. In an effort to get devices available as soon as possible, we are expediting all shipments to stores outside our normal process. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication on Friday and stock was not available as expected on Saturday.

Why can't we order the iPhone 4 online?

Well see here is the double edged sword for Rogers. They just changed their policy of getting phones be it a HUP or new. The call centres and by extension the website no longer have stock of phones. They will point you to a retailer. Why you ask quite simply customers complained that it took too long to get their new phone. So as a customer service goal Rogers moved to this format. Honestly I think it was a smart idea. The downside is when you have a popular phone such as the iPhone is you run into this issue.
Remember folks this is an Apple issue not a Rogers issue. They simply do not have enough stock to send out. Apple makes them not Rogers. Apple decides when the release date is not Rogers. Call Steve Jobs.

if this was the case then AT&T stores in the US would be having problems getting stock as well. but they aren't. personally i think someone misjudged the initial demand and did not allocate enough units in their initial order to satisfy all the customers. this is a corporate mistake on all ends, not just rogers, but all carriers. more than likely because of the old way of corporate thinking, they only looked at previous numbers to establish a guess as to how many phones to order. not realizing the public demand would be so high. i work for a company that does exactly this process and always misses out on sales for lack of stock. i don't want to say it but its true... this would not have happened with ted rogers at the helm. i miss that guy alot.
now as to whether this belongs in this forum or other posts like this, the answer is yes. this forum should exist not as just a board for technical issues but one for all customer issues. complaints should be adressed either via forum or privately and yes it should be monitored for abuse above freedom of speech.

Hi lofi,
This forum is for Rogers technical issues, not all customer issues.
As the RedBoard blog mentions, contact your local Rogers retailer to confirm units of the iPhone 4 are in stock.
Thanks for being patient, and be sure to check the RedBoard blog and @RogersHelps Twitter account for future updates.
The forums provide a venue where customers can help each other with technical questions related to our products and services. We're going to be flexible with this as customers get familiar with our community guidelines.

Was it normal for Rogers stores to get so little stock? I mean 8 or less? I got my iPhone 4 on launch day and the store I went to had 17 phones and all of them went to customers only. Two of their employees told me they had to wait to get theirs. What are the average stock levels looking like?
