I couldn't see why I'd need more than 16GB when there's a MicroSD slot.

Yeah, so basically it looks like the 32GB version will be $50 more.  $50 for 16GB is expensive.  You can get 32GB memory cards now for that much or even less.

Are 64GB memory cards available yet?

Sandisk is the ONLY one that has able to make this from what i know & seen. I called Sandisk & they told me this will work on Mobilephones seeing as it has a smaller one in it.

I'm actually a super-heavy advanced user that has a Galaxy S Captivate, and I can assure you I haven't been able to even use half of the 16 Gigs my first generation phone has.

The extra storage is likely more benefitial for people that don't keep a clean file system or insist on filling the internal SD card with MP3's or video's/pictures.

For me, even at 50 bucks more it's a waste.

Question for all of you people who have (or will) reserved:  Are you all up for an upgrade?  Or what is Rogers' policy on that?  Last I've heard it is 30 months before you are up for a phone upgrade.  Anytime before that, you are subject to a pretty hefty "early upgrade fee".

Are you paying this, or have gotten it waived?  How about the $35 admin/activation fee.

I ask because I am looking to switch from my BB Torch 9800 that I've had for almost 2 years now.  But according to my eligibility status online, the "early upgrade fee" would be $220+.  Bleh.

Thanks!

The Early upgrade fee always needs to be paid unless you call & complain really bad for something that Rogers did to you.

The upgrade fee went a little up, that is why you are seeing that much. The Admin fee MIGHT be waived if you speak to Retentions but 98% of the time you will need to pay the admin fee.

Thanks for the quick response.  Are you ordering it?  If so, are you up for an upgrade?  Are you paying an early upgrade fee?

Again, my question is to all of you that have already ordered, or have already talked to Rogers about ordering it in your specific situations.  Thanks!

My upgrade fee is $377. Yes i am paying the upgrade fee & the admin fee as well.

Well Rogers will not do anything like i said unless you want to speak to retentions & want to cancel your line. If you tell them that, they might be able to cut down the upgrade fee. It all depends tho right. Mostly everyone has to pay the upgrade fee. In a sense its the right thing to do seeing as you are getting a phone before your eligible to get a upgrade without paying anything.

I understand the morality of it.  Was just looking to see from other people's personal experiences.

Thanks for yours!  Quite a hefty price to pay for a phone.  Not quite, but almost the same as buying the phone outright (assuming the rumored $650 cost).

I have to also pay the early upgrade fee.  This is simply a cash-grab by Rogers, as there's no way these plastic handsets will last for 3 years.  Especially when 2-years in we can't load many new software titles because the device is considered obsolete.
The phones are deemed "Too old" to receive software updates, yet Rogers feels we should get another year or longer out of them.  /boggle
The "Admin/Activation" fee is Rogers outright ripping us off.  It represents an invoice for nothing.  Rogers would actually credit this amount 100% of the time if you complained for over 10 years, but recently they stopped doing this.  It is literally a charge for nothing.
