First Bell became the first carrier in Canada to bring the ICE CREAM SANDWICH (AKA Andriod OS 4.0) update to the Galaxy S2. Now Telus....... And we have yet to hear a date from Rogers. What's going on?

Are you too excited about the Galaxy S3 that you forgot about your S2 customers?

I would really appreciate an official response from someone at Rogers.

Thanks!

If you scan around on these threads you'll see a lot of us feel the same way as you. It would appear Rogers has a different view of it's customers...What old time French auristocrat said " Let the eat Gingerbread" ?

Rogers has had the opportunity to demonstrate that they pay attention to their customers, and have failed to even provide any kind of meaningful answer. Platitudes, and some bizarre sense of self importance, seem to prevent them from bending to customer pressure. The Canadian Telecom industry needs to be shaken up, in the same way that the US auto industry was by the competition from foreign companies. Giving the consumers a meaningful choice has lead to better products, better pricing & innovative technology. Otherwise, we'd be driving cars with 10 Mpg, 1year warranties, that looked like boxes-one size fits all. Now the US auto industry HAS to respect the consumer, let's all hope that the same happens with the Telecoms in Canada....... Respect your customers, Don't be dismissive, with your "too big for your britches" attitude!

ive never considered myself an impatient consumer. things happen (or things dont) and life goes on. whatever. but this is becoming a bit of a joke.

i renewed with the galaxy S2, knowing the newer and better phones would be coming, likely with ICS. but i was firmly assured id get ICS in due time. now its JUNE. not happy.

i think Rogers representatives dismiss our distress because maybe it seems invalid? childish even? because the phones work fine, everythings fine, so we didnt get out update, waa waa waa.

but you know what, it IS a big deal. ongoing development is a big part of the Android way. these inconsitencies create unecessary confusion and frustration on our end, especially when we KNOW they have the resources to ammend it (especially if friggin Bell can do it...) but they dont. they simply CHOOSE not to. its insulting. its not that much to ask for, dont smack us in the face. give us the update, before i throw up on you.

im not making threats when i say that if we dont get it soon, i wont be renewing with rogers. i know im just one person, and it doesnt make a difference. but vote with your wallets people. it does make a difference. its simple economics; if they decide in the fuure that releasing the update saves them a few more customers, i think theyll do it.

its not hard to change to another provider. you can keep your numer. and these new provders are actually pretty good. very reasonable rates. i dno, think about it. i know i will. this is pathetic.

Rogers must really think very little of their customers, both in terms of intelligence & persistence! Rogers, we SEE your Ads for "coming soon products". You have no hesitation in "commenting on future" hardware, yet you're blatantly MUTE when it comes to the release dates of o/s updates. Why is that, we know that you know... are you just too shy, or are things really that bad at rogers?
Please tell us if you need any help in your communication skills, we'd be glad to assist you!

I don't know if this is correct or not but I was on the phone with a Samsung rep due to phone issues but asked him about the update. He says he doesn't know but there are rumors of June 20th. I asked why Rogers is taking so long compared to Bell and he said that Rogers hasn't even recieved the update yet. The only update released to carriers was for the regular S2 not the LTE or other models. That info may not be correct but I thought I'd pass it along.
