It always depend on the amount each stores receives. It's not a big amount at first, maybe 10-20 phones in the first week. They get them before the release date but can never sell them to customer evidently. Reservation list gets hit first.

@Silvertag. You are so wrong my friend. The iPhone 4S was on reservation & i was #17 on it & the day came & i never got a email. So i went to the store that morning of launch & got the phone straight there. Then after a few hours i got a call from the same store telling me they got my reservation. Anyone can do a walk in & get the phone. The reservation list is not the first one that get it...
Walk ins get it first before the reservations do. Also if you read the Rogers Redboard forums A lot of people have said that Walk ins are the first people that are going to be getting the phone seeing as they are waiting outside / where ever they are to get it. The reservation list is made for us not to stay outside of the store. This is what rogers did. The stock they have in the warehouse is cut in half for walk ins & for the reservation list. They ship to the store lets say 30 phones right?. Now lets say the store does not have any people that reserved to that store. All those phones go out at launch to the walk-ins. Now lets say a store receives 30 phones & have lets say 20 reservation on them. The 10 that are just their are sold as walk-ins.
All in all Walk ins get it before the reservations. Rogers will not email you or tell you that you are getting it at launch UNTIL the day of the launch. \
Also if you lets say reserve a Galaxy Nexus BUT you already got it from another Rogers plus store & you are in the status of " IN PROGRESS" OR " SHIPPED" wait until the store calls you & tell them you do not want it anymore. The $40 fee goes back into your account ONCE the Status shows shipped & you get the email.

I understand what you mean but i agree i did not write what i actually meant. If they have 30 phones and only have 10 reservation at that location chances are you may get lucky with a walkin. If your coming in as #22 on launch day then your sol since 10 are reserved and must wait for another shipment or try your luck elsewhere.
The walk-in is a game of russian roulete depending on how much clientele a store has. A downtown location will more likely see a bigger walk-in rate then a suburd one. It's always a question of demand vs offer. This is why i think it's best to be on the list then try to be the lucky one on launch day "all depending on where you are located".

So what do you guys think? Last week I called the Rogers Plus Store closest to my house I asked if they were getting the Nexus and when. I was told by the rep that it was tentatively for Jan 10. Now a few days later I went into that same store and asked again to see if they had changed the date to Jan 13 as per Samsung Canadas tweet. Now they have no information not even the manager. She said she has a confrence call weekley and they always inform her of that sort of thing and she has heard nothing? It appears that it is pretty clear the Nexus will be launching the 13th. Why can they never tell you anyhting or give you a simple answer! Very annoying. ![]()

Ohhhhh and as if Telus will commit to saying it's Jan 13 on the main page of their website, but of course Rogers will not even tell you or advertise it! Ugh It's just sad that this is the only reason I am hopeful they will have it is because Telus is advertising it and there suppose to have it the same day.. lol
