Apparently there are some Samsung phones out there that have bad chip and/or bad firmware .

Samsung is aware of the problem and is busy coming up with fix.  There is an app available (not from play store) that you run and it tells you if your chip set is risky. This only applies to ROMs that have the ICS kernal NOT ICS roms based on the older GB kernals.

 FYI only.

It could be. Also it could be that Rogers has yet gotten the LTE to work on the ICS so they need to fix it.

No one knows what really is going on but Rogers.

Both the chip & LTE work just fine with ICS, rogers is the issue. It's about marketing, bloat, priorities, money, NEW customers & because they can :-[

This applies to the Epic 4G Touch. No one has mentioned anything about the t989 (T-mobile/Telus) or the i727 (Skyrocket/Rogers LTE) having this issue. A lot of users are running leaked ICS or official if using t989 (T-Mobile released last night..)...

Yeah, it's not a hardware issue at all - it's a pigheaded issue on the part of (insert "World class Internet experience" here) :-[
