Thanks, Meowmix. All I would ask of Rogers is a little courtesy and to be treated like a human being as opposed to being fed a script. I worked for the support arm of a major computer company a few years back and recall how happy it made customers when I deviated from the pat responses I was supposed to stick to, and treated them like people instead of dollar signs. I get the feeling that doesn't occur here very often, if ever.
I think I'll root my Nexus S and try CM9, this is just horses**t.

Hi folks,
There's obviously been some confusion here with regards to this particular OS update.
The Nexus series of Google devices receive OS updates directly from Google. The Samsung Nexus S is no different - OS updates will come directly from Google, delivered OTA (over the air) by Samsung.
This is a case where we do not have any role in the device's OS update. We don't receive the update from Google or Samsung, and we don't deliver it to our customers.
Sorry for the confusion!

Do this to get the ics 4.04 OTA on your nexus.
Manage APPs -> ALL->Google services Framwork: clear data ->dial *#*#2432546#*#* (*#*#checkin#*#*)
I had to do this 4 time before I got the notice for an update.

I would like to confirm the method Creauix suggests works flawlessly. I tried icu's method several times without success. What I did was:
I am now running 4.0.4 - I also tried unsuccessfully the *#*#2432546#*#* several times (each time clearing data from the Google Service Framework) to get it to download automatically first.
I am now the proud owner of a Nexus S again, 4.0.4 is sweet.

The download URL works like a charm. every app seems to work so far. Firefox is definitely crisper.
Thanks Google for my birthday present, one day early!
