The Canadian ones are updated through Samsung, not Google directly.  You have to root it to change the product code in order to get the google updates.  4.0.3 is not out yet.

If you bought the Galaxy Nexus thinking it was going to get the updates first and directly from Google ,I strongly suggest you flash the Google ROM on your phone.

To do so, you need to unlock the phone boot-loader (most certainly void your warranty).

This is a one-time operation that entirely wipes your phone data for (obvious) security reasons.

Official updates for Nexus devices from Google are available here: http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html

(4.0.3 is not available yet)

Unlocking and rooting your phone DOES NOT void your warranty. I have unlocked and rooted ever Android phone I've had with Rogers and Rogers has always honored the warranty. Software has nothing to do with hardware defects, which is what is covered under your warranty. If you brick your phone with a bad flash, then you're on your own, unless you can come up with a reasonable excuse of course.

I would rather get the update through Rogers and not mess with my phone. I have read there is a 4.0.5 update in March. I hope that is true would ne nice to get some update on that.

People are buying apps that are broken because of 4.0.1. 2 developers told me a lot of problems are fixed with 4.0.5 and there are welcome performance increases.

The update for the Nexus phones & Apple phones are straight from the companies tho. They asked for it so the carriers do not add their stuff into it & leave it alone.

Sorry i don't know what you are trying to say. I don't care where it comes from, it comes with fixes I want and many others want.

One more time, updates for the Rogers Galaxy Nexus come from Samsung.
The latest version from Samsung is 4.0.1.
The latest version from Google is 4.0.2.

4.0.5 version hasn't been released yet so no developer may know if it fixes their problem or not. 4.0.3 is a bigger improvement because it includes new features whereas 4.0.2 and 4.0.4 or 4.0.5 only contain bug fixes.
