backup not saving

Hi,

I have the Cisco DPC3825 DOCSIS 3.0 Gateway and I saved my router settings awhile ago and my settings got all erased byitself some how, now I want to restore my settings but when I try to restore nothing happens still nothing there.  Any ideas what's wrong?

Re: backup not saving

Hey Jayzino,

Do you get any error messages when selecting the saved file?  Have you tried to reconfigure the settings manually?

Thanks,

Re: backup not saving

I wonder if there might have been a firmware update between the time you backed up your settings and the time you tried to restore them.  A few years ago I backed up the settings on my router before upgrading the firmware, and when I tried to restore them it just didn't work.

Re: backup not saving

Ya I think that was the problem the firmware because it does look a little different the router setting options but why does firmware upgrade without me knowing and this could also explain the other problem I'm having with internet dropping alot lately,I'll be surfing than web pages stop loading after awhile?

Re: backup not saving

I'm using the SMC and haven't noticed anything weird myself, but during the summer some people complained about firmware upgrades **bleep** up their connection.  Apparently Rogers push the upgrades themselves - it's not something that you do yourself.

Anyway, based on what you're saying it definitely looks like it's the upgrade that rendered your backup useless. Smiley Sad
