I don't understand why I can't call a 1800 number from my home phone

@Dwigit : Are you trying to call from your Rogers Home Phone service?  If RHP, then have you enabled "long distance lock" in your home phone (it is an optional feature)?  The LD block probably blocks anything beginning with 1-.  Are you able to call other long distance numbers?

Re: Can't call 1-800, 1-866, etc numbers

I had the very same issue last week - trying to call Rogers 1-8XX.  Kept getting the message, this is a long distance call, please redial with 1 in front.  It was trying to treat them as local numbers, dropping the 1 for some reason.

No blocks on our phone - it works now.

Kind of glitched in for a day, then back out.
